Examine
Your Motives
Did you marry them because they were a doctor,
lawyer, an heir, had their own business,
or because they made a certain amount of
money? Did you buy that house because your
friends bought one? Did you charge the right
amount of money even though you could've
gotten away with charging more? Did you
punish the right child instead
of the favored one?
I thank
God for discernment. It allows me to see
the inner man in most people. Sometimes
I'm disappointed by what I see, other times
I'm overjoyed at the move of God in the
lives of people.
I walked
out of the building thinking, "he was not
sincere". For I had recognized the fact
that had I allowed him to, he would have
gotten over on me. I also recognized that
he was aware of what he was doing. This
was something that he did on a regular basis.
Yes, this was who he was. The sad part is;
he is a person that stands upright in the
community, speaks on behalf of God and is
responsible for the lives of many, many
people. However, I sensed that in this particular
situation, his motives were impure. I was
disheartened, but prayed that God would
intervene.
What
about you? When was the last time you examined
your motives? Why are you doing what you're
doing? Are you treating people right, because
it's right, or are you doing it with ulterior
motives? Do you stand to gain something,
or is your heart telling you to do it? Check
yourself, check your actions, and ask God
to help you to do things "from the heart".
I guarantee you will begin to see people's
reaction toward you change, and the favor
of God will rest in your temple into eternity!
Until
the next time,

- Give God
10%, pay yourself 10%

- Always
assess your wants vs. your needs
- Write
down what you spend/evaluate why you spend
- Contribute
$15-$20 a month to a savings account that you
don't have easy access to (if the institution
charges a penalty for withdrawing funds that's
even better, it'll act as a deterrent for taking
money out)
- Enroll
in programs that give you money for your money
(check local banking institutions)
- Bank
of America
- Chase
Bank
- Wachovia
Developing
firm spending and saving habits will shape your
wallet up in no time. Begin to honestly ascribe
to some of the above practices and watch your
bank roll blossom!
Pray for
God to give you the diligence and obedience to
take your financial situation from little to lavish!

It's a way
of life!
Dieting?
Losing weight? On a "get fine" program?
What about
changing your way of life when it comes to your
eating habits? That's all dieting is. It's simply
being obedient to what your appetite demands and
what your body can handle. The reason some of
us overdo it is because of our own selfish desires,
like greed. I know that's hard to digest for those
that have problems in this area, but it is true.
Take a look
at what you eat, when you eat, and
why you eat. Honestly examine these three
areas, and see how they can help you gain control
of your eating habits, and maintain your desirable
body size.
Incorporate
five principles into your daily life and watch
your situation change:
- Make up
your mind - DECIDE that maintaining a healthier
lifestyle is best for you and COMMIT to it
- Consider
timing - Is this the right time for you to do
this? Are you taking medication? Will this new
adaptation fit into what you currently have
going on? Remember: you won't be able to stop
in to fast food restaurants for a quick meal….
- Pray -
Stop trying to do this by yourself and seek
help from God
- Team up
- There is power in partnerships. Get w/ a friend,
coworker, or relative who is equally serious
about healthier living and "go for it"
- Exercise
- YOU MUST EXERCISE! Why do we think that we
can remain healthy without exercise? Simply
put, we can't! In some form of fashion, in order
to lose weight, maintain your weight, or simply
stay healthy, you have to do some form of exercise;
walk, run, 10 jumping jacks or sit ups/push
ups a day. Do something to move your muscles,
firm your fanny, and hone your hips.
- Eat right
- Watch what you eat. Stay away from fried,
high fat foods. You know, those foods that smell
good, taste good, and look good, but AREN'T
good!
Changing
your eating habits, adopting a healthier regimen,
or exercising is A WAY OF LIFE! It's not a quick
fix. It's not something that can be done for
a few days, weeks, or months, and then stopped.
That's why most people fail. They figure they'll
do this for a certain number of days and lose
a certain number of pounds, then that's it.
When time is up they go right back to doing
what they were doing before they started. They
fail to adopt it as how they want to continue
on forever. Again, it's a way of life! You adopt
it, participate in it, and continue it…..forever!

Lord give me a new heart
One that doesn’t brag or boast But that lifts up the fallen
And them type folk!
Iniquity is gone and there’s joy in sight Everything’s done by God’s great might. No more jealousy, envy or strife…. No more going to bed early on those dreadful, angry nights.
Lord give me a new heart where there’s love, joy, and peace… No more iniquity, no, not in the least.
Is it possible to have, is it true indeed?
To have such a thing and none in between?
With no where to run and no where to hide… Quickly now! You won’t make it inside… The neighbor’s closet is full of secrets and sin, no room at his house, “No you can’t come in.” Greed and lust swells within-
the enemy takes hold-your FAITH grew too thin—He smiles and thanks you for your soul but THEN…. You wake to realize it was just a dream… Held hostage by INIQUITY’S THEME! Glory to God you rise to say!
Yet another day to worship and pray.
Lord give me a new heart that honors in truth. Yielding to no one-Your truce!
You take your hand and touch your chest. all night long you had no rest.
Fall on your knees you must I say, Repent to Him, shout and pray.
To be lifted again—His will today!

As Editor, I thought I would share some poetry with you in this edition of the Loveletter.
This poem, I wrote as I thought about how many times we miss sweet moments with the Lord in exchange for what we call “everyday living”. So many times we get busy in our hectic schedules and without realizing it...we miss what is really important. Hope you enjoy.
Missed
Silent moments—those times that are spent alone, just you and God
Missed because of a hectic day.
Sweet nothings whispered by that someone special
Forsaken by a senseless argument.
The softness and smoothness of a special touch
Traded for a brutal act of violence.
The look of love that rest in giving eyes
Clouded by tear drops and the redness of fury and rage.
The anticipation of a hand-to-hand moment
Interrupted by a grip of fear.
The calmness of a soft, loving voice
Masqueraded by the yelling of profanities.
The peace and serenity longed for
Stolen by the hustle and bustle of a busy day.
Missing are the simple pleasures in life. Those moments when we trade the
calmness
of spending time with the one who gives peace for things that we consider “must-do” items in our busy days. Missed are the golden opportunities that we could have but are too busy to recognize. Missed are the true things in life that we take for granted as always being available to us. But nothing guarantees that they truly are.
Believing in you, trusting in Him....
